I use this often and it works very well but has limited advanced tools. The Snagit I'm going to talk about here is used to capture screenshots. Of course the latter would be shagit not snagit. It makes me think of fishing or better yet Austin Powers Baby. The SnagIt demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions compared with the full version.I thought this was a funny name at first. It is part from screen capture category and is licensed as shareware for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit platform and can be used as a free trial until the trial period will end. In short, when you need to take a video or a screenshot of desktop activity then this is the ultimate choice. In addition, it also supports the export and import function. The software has an inbuilt social network integration for sharing the output files at will. In fact, most of the edit function common fo images are available in this application. The menu has a touch pen which you can highlight areas of the photo with different colors, you can also add graphical images, shadows effects, and visual element. Once you have it, you then run editing functions to make it better for what you need. You will use the mouse to drag it to the areas which you wish to capture. You are at liberty to choose what to take if it is the entire window or a specific part.
If you want to have some video tutorials for a training then it is the most efficient application for this purpose. It helps to achieve this as snapshots as well as record videos. All you need is a special tool like the SnagIt.
Of course, this is not possible with the webcams or even the screenshots o the pint key on your keyboard. You may need a reference to all the desktop activities. Windows has a default printscreen key and screen capture tool but often you need a more adbanced one that is capable to edit and share the images.
